Walt invited to participate in Michael Lichter's Annual Sturgis Art Exhibition, "One World Choppers."
It's a great honor for Walt to have his work exhibited among all these fine craftsmen & artists.
Thunder Road August 4-11, 2007
"The premise for “One World Choppers” was inspired by what has been termed "The British Invasion" of music from 1964-1966, when after exporting R&B, and early Rock & Roll overseas, “Beat” groups like the Beatles, Rolling Stones and the Yardbirds brought a changed Rock and Roll back to the United States; and the rest is history. In a similar way, Harley-Davidson motorcycles were exported all over the world, adapted to local means, and the local culture, and something new was born. This motorcycle themed exhibition will be limited to 24-foreign-born builder-artists, including many that live and work in the USA, and others who will come from overseas. It will demonstrate how these artists have influenced and contributed to the contemporary custom motorcycle scene in America. There will also be foreign-born 2-dimensional artists for the accompanying wall displays, whose work, while less known in America, is of great importance in their own countries. Accompanying text and commentary will be from editors of the foreign and domestic motorcycle press. Given the increasing interdependence of countries around the globe, this exhibition is particularly relevant in that by bringing together such a diverse group of people that share a common passion, it will stir thought and dialogue on contemporary issues, particularly globalization. Our One-World continues to get smaller, and what has happened with custom Harleys and custom choppers is a great example."

Walt's last bike, the Sordillo Salt Flat, is featured in the August issue of The Horse: "Walt Siegl has been a little known secret in the NYC hardcore motorcycle scene for the past 20 years. Walt's bikes, however, are not so elusive. Like alien spaceships, they have been reported flying down 3rd Avenue and over the 59th Street Bridge..."
Two of Walt's bikes are part of an art exhibition in the Hamptons called "Oldskool -- a survey of 20th Century Motorculture." The show runs from July 15th to August 20th. Annex Gallery, 171 Main St., Amagansett, Long Island. If you're out there, come to the opening on the 15th.
